In the times of no/early TV, pre pubs staying open (legally) past 6pm Skating was apparently a big thing here in New Zealand and of course there were records locally and otherwise that offered music for skaters.

This Record on Lotus Records (based in Wellington) was one.

Ernisto Verrecchia was the keyboard wiz knocking out the tunes on this LP.

Cat # is LLP 8015 and the cover on this is one of those nice heavy cardboard types similar to US records of the time.

Worthy of filing if you are working on building a collection of NZ Records of all types which I’m not.

Mr Verrecchia also played organ on “Christmas Carols In Maori” by Te Pataka Maori Choir which was released by Kiwi Records.

Looked up his name online and not a lot turned up so figured I would add this little bit.

To me the best Record on this label is Taranaki United Artists Presents On Stage which is a Live Various Artists LP which features soloists and early Taranaki artists partly because it is hometown stuff to me and it has a bit of early rock ‘n’ roll action.
